Story of Thomas Long, early pioneer of Michigan Territory, as written by his granddaughter, Blanche Collard Drew, wife of Frank M. Drew, Girard, Pennsylvania, in the year 1938, the Eightieth year of her life. The facts contained herein are authentic in every particular and were related to Mrs. Drew by her grand‑father during the first ten years of her life. Having a retentive memory, Mrs. Drew stored these facts away in her mind and has been able to remember them accurately because of frequent repetition to her children and grand‑children, who enjoyed the story almost as much as their grand‑mother did more than seventy years ago. Through the pioneer ancestors buried in Wayne County, Michigan, Mrs. Drew has membership in the society of "The Daughters of American Colonists," "Daughters of the American Revolution" and "United States Daughters of 1812." Through the same ancestry she is eligible to membership in the "Society of Founders and Patriots" and the "Colonial Dames."
